Soil Zoning

Soil Zoning

Soil type is one of the main causes of repeatable crop variation within fields. Differences in soil texture, depth, stone content and organic matter all influence crop performance.

By dividing the field into separate soil management zones, this variation can be managed through variable rate applications.

We always begin our zoning process by sitting down with you, to get your valuable input on where you feel the soil variation is.

We also gather information from soil surveys, satellite imagery and any precision farming data you may have to aid us in the zoning process.

We may already have historic soil brightness scans for your farm. This means you can be set up at any time of the year and the process is very quick.
